Student Assessment and Evaluation is responsible for the administration of provincial, national, and international assessments.
The Program of Learning Assessment for Nova Scotia (PLANS) provides reliable and accurate data to assist in educational decision making at all levels: student, home, school, region/board, and province.
Assessment Schedule
Student Assessment and Evaluation administers a comprehensive assessment program which provides reliable and accurate data about student performance in mathematics and literacy. The Program of Learning Assessment for Nova Scotia (PLANS) is responsible for the administration of international, national, and provincial assessments and examinations. Student Assessment and Evaluation develops, administers, scores, and reports on English and French provincial assessments and examinations. Note: Administration dates for grade 6 assessments have been adjusted due to September 2022 weather-related recovery efforts as follows: Nova Scotia Assessment: Reading, Writing, and Mathematics/Mathématiques in Grade 6 (RWM6): Tuesday, October 11 to Thursday, October 27; Évaluation de la Nouvelle-Écosse : Lecture et écriture en 6e année (LE6 - CSAP): Monday, October 24 to Wednesday, November 2.
