Update to the Grade 6 Provincial Assessments for 2026-2027

Beginning this fall, Grade 6 provincial assessments will shift from paper-based delivery to online administration. This change modernizes assessment practices, improves accessibility, and better supports teaching and learning.

What this means for students and schools:

• Students will complete assessments on a computer or Chromebook at school.
• A variety of supports will be available for schools including guides, webinars, and daily live technical support.
• Students will complete mandatory Sample Assessments, to ensure they are familiar with the assessment format and tools.
• Adaptations will continue to be available for students who need them.

Important dates

• Platform access for teachers and administrators: beginning Sept. 24
• Sample Assessments window: Oct. 5–16
• Main Assessment window: Oct. 19–Nov. 10

This bulletin clarifies permitted supports for students learning English or French as an Additional Language (EAL/FAL) on provincial assessments. Use professional judgment within these guidelines and consult your principal or Regional Assessment Lead when needed.
