Nova Scotia teachers work with the Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (EECD) to develop provincial assessments in mathematics and literacy for Grades 3, 6, and 8. All questions are based on the Nova Scotia curriculum. Teachers also help set the expectations: what students should know and be able to do independently at the time of the assessment.

The dashboard charts show the percentage of students at or above the assessment expectation, based only on students who participated and received a result. Students who participate but do not complete enough work receive “Not Enough Evidence.” They are counted as participants but are not included in the overall results.

For more information about interpreting the results of an assessment, visit the Educators section of the assessment page.
