Alternate Format Requests
Formats that are available with a documented adaptation include enlarged print, Braille, paper‑based (for grade 6 and grade 8) and black-and-white (for grade 3 and grade 10).
Click here to fill out the request form to order alternate formats for students at your school. You will need to provide:
- Your contact information (school, phone and email)
- Student information
- name, date of birth, and ID
- grade and program of study
- Type of alternate format
These requests must be received by:
- September 12 for assessments in grade 6
- December 1 for first semester examinations
- April 1 for assessments in grade 3, grade 8, and second semester examinations

Read Aloud registration (grade 3 only)
The Nova Scotia Assessment: Read-aloud (NSA-RA) Platform provides an audio recording of the grade 3 provincial assessments for students who have a read-aloud adaptation for assessments documented in TIENET.

Registration dates for Grade 3: March 1 - May 1
- For grade 6 and grade 8, registration for read aloud adaptations is directly in the online assessment platform.
For Nova Scotia examinations, audio files will be shared with schools.
